Ohhhhh GOP is that all you got?

Healthcare in the US is a big business, one-sixth of the world's largest economy connects to medical services research, medicines, and care. The people that the GOP works for invest heavily in insurance, banking and pharmaceuticals, and they know how big it is.

What the GOP does not know is that millions of lives depend on US healthcare, and they have proposed legislation that will shorten those lives and create unneeded human suffering. They don't need to know these things-- it is not important to their futures or success.
So far, a handful of GOP Senators say they oppose the slaughter of innocent but poor or middle class Americans-- to which I say, for democracy, patriotism, and social justice--

IS THAT ALL YOU GOT!

The Republican Party has disconnected from the voters. They simply farm them every two years for their votes. They overwhelm the public with lies and money-backed lies. They have tons of money from rich corporate interests that can legally bribe them under today's political contribution laws.

The House has the further protection of carving their districts to ensure that they will win-- rigging the votes. They have voter suppression laws to stop people who are likely to vote for progress. Then, there is also the Russian cyber-attack weapons that may well be able to re-count our votes after we cast them-- or maybe they already have. The Russians know whom to back to make the US weaker.

The Republicans have nothing to fear from cutting short 20 million American lives- their incomes will go up because they have given nice little tax cuts for the wealthy and gigantic tax cuts for the rich.

So the days of the appearance of concern for US health are over, and we as a nation of the less well-to-do will march through a Republican Valley of Death-- God will be with us, but the GOP will not-- they will be up on the tops of the mountains-- partying like its 1995!!!...ahhhmeii...hdm

Turning Down the Hatred...

Turning Down the Hatred...

Republicans won't admit it and Democrats won't be so brazen, but the threat of violence against Congressional leaders is an alarming prospect. Consider, the millions of people that the Republican Congress has infuriated with its political sabotage of the US economy.
Politics is not a good place to sow bitterness, and that is exactly what the Right has done. Consider yesterday, Steve -the strangest man in politics- King blamed President Obama for the shootings on the ball field. King claims Obama divided us-- well, yes-- Obama divided the poor and needy from the rich and greedy and pioneered universal healthcare--- that is a blame I or any other compassionate human would accept.

This is the time to turn down the hatred. Even if they don't believe in it, the Right would be dearly advised to find some causes that favor people rather corporate donors. Like - well creating some jobs to build stuff we need like better dams and waterways to handle climate change, or some retraining that adds computer science to the resumes of former factory workers.

Heck, lets be reckless, we should  even do some training in democracy, voting, critical thinking-- you see there are consequences to pouring mean lies and half truths into the public cauldron-- sometimes that stuff boils over!!!...hdm

Softball and Hard Bullets

Condolences to the victims of the shooting rampage in Virginia. The Congressional ball game was always a joyful time. Such is the nature of violence, it can color the world and flavor every perception. It can overwhelm the other senses with dread.

We can mourn the senseless violence but we cannot hide behind the tearful and fearful expressions. This day did not come by itself. It followed many days filled with hateful speech and the slow pull like gravity of the GOP and the Right to the well of hatred and deadly arms to everyone.

Now that there are victims and they have names and affiliation there are platitudes and something resembling remorse. The tide that the past decade has raised will not fade so easily. There was a mountain of hateful thought and ill-will to millions that brought us to this awful state, and it will take a tidal force of goodwill to send it away.

So far, one wonders if the Right can still find the light, the light that sparks love and compassion, The light that brightens the dark and not lurks there in howls and growls to frighten the child in all of us...one simply wonders --like the climate-- have we passed the tipping point already?

We have no choice but to face today and hope for tomorrow-- we have no better chance than to face today and hope for tomorrow.

If God answers our highest prayers, we would have a chance to face this day-- and hope for tomorrow...hdm
